The Communauté de Communes du Val d'Argent, awarded the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire label by the French Ministry of Culture in 2005, invites you to celebrate 20 years of heritage and culture. Throughout November, discover the historical and architectural treasures of the four Val d'Argent communes with a varied program of guided tours and events.
Here are the events not to be missed:
Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines textile and mining heritage tour
RDV at the Val d'Argent Tourist Office, Place Prensureux, Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. Explore the garden of the Villa Landmann and stop off at a former mining site to learn about the valley's industrial history.
Discover the Grimm villa and garden
The Heritage Department opens the doors of the Villa Grimm to admire its elegant architecture and preserved garden. A former employer's villa, it was the birthplace of the internationally renowned Lavablaine fabric.
Archive presentation: "Stumpf's drawings".
Get together in front of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines town hall to discover the drawings and sketches made by Stumpf between 1854 and 1864. These works allow us to rediscover the Val d'Argent landscape as it was over a century ago.
Exceptional visit to the tunnel for the 20th anniversary of the label
To mark this anniversary, the tunnel will be exceptionally open to the public. The tour will include the safety gallery, a meeting with the firefighters who work in it, and historical explanations, offering an unprecedented look at this emblematic structure.
Discover the Dietsch factory archives and the Kuntzmann notebooks
Explore archive documents on the Dietsch factory and the notebooks of schoolteacher Kuntzmann, who recorded the history, tales and legends of the village of Lièpvre at the end of the XIX¿ century.
Urban walk in Rombach-le-Franc
A guided stroll to appreciate the village, its architecture, landscapes and history, along a route that combines heritage and discovery of the area.
Lièpvre church tour and organ demonstration
Dive into the history of the church and watch an organ demonstration, to better understand the workings and richness of this majestic instrument.
Discover the Villa Burrus and textile samples from the Val d'Argent
The Heritage Department offers a guided tour of the Villa Burrus, where numerous textile samples from local factories are kept, providing a concrete insight into the valley's industrial and craft history.
